Anti-Bullying & Behaviour Policy

Global Innovation Hub has zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, or discriminatory behaviour. This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, trustees, and beneficiaries, and sets out the standards of behaviour expected across all our activities.

Complaints Policy

We welcome complaints as an opportunity to learn and improve. All complaints are acknowledged within 5 working days and resolved through a clear three-stage process, with the option to escalate to the Charity Commission if required.

Conflict of Interest Policy

All trustees, staff, and volunteers must declare any personal, financial, or professional interests that could influence their decisions. A Register of Interests is maintained and reviewed at every Board meeting.

Financial Controls Policy

All financial transactions above £500 require dual trustee authorisation. The Board approves an annual budget, and accounts are independently examined in line with Charity Commission requirements. Full financial records are maintained and publicly reported.

Financial Reserves Policy

The Board of Trustees has agreed to maintain a minimum free reserve equivalent to three months of core operating costs. Reserves are reviewed at every Board meeting to ensure the charity can meet its obligations and manage unforeseen challenges.

Risk Management Policy

A formal Risk Register is maintained and reviewed at every Board meeting. Risks are rated by likelihood and impact across five categories: governance, financial, operational, safeguarding, and reputational. Mitigation measures are assigned and monitored.

Volunteer Policy

Volunteers are central to our work. We provide clear role descriptions, full induction, appropriate training, and reimbursement of agreed expenses. In return, volunteers are expected to uphold our values, maintain confidentiality, and complete required training.

Data Protection (GDPR) Policy

We comply fully with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Personal data is collected only for specified purposes, stored securely, and deleted when no longer needed. Individuals can request access to, correction, or deletion of their data at any time.

Trustees' Expenses Policy

Trustees are unpaid volunteers, but may claim reimbursement for legitimate, pre-agreed expenses incurred in carrying out their trustee duties. All claims must be supported by receipts and approved by a fellow trustee. No personal profit may arise.
