Cybersecurity Foundations

A career-entry introduction to cybersecurity, covering online safety, AI-powered threats, data protection, and the foundational skills needed to pursue a career in security.

2–4 weeks
Online Workshops (Live & Self-Paced)

Programme Overview

Our Cybersecurity Foundations programme is designed for everyone, from young people to older adults, who want to navigate the internet safely, protect their personal information, and take their first step into a cybersecurity career. These structured sessions also cover AI awareness, including how AI is used in cybersecurity, ethical AI use, and how to recognise AI-generated content and scams.

In an increasingly connected and AI-driven world, knowing how to protect yourself and your data is essential. These structured sessions break down complex security concepts, including AI-related threats, into easy-to-understand, actionable steps. We make cybersecurity accessible, practical, and immediately relevant to daily life, while laying the groundwork for a career in the sector.

No experience needed. This programme is free, inclusive, and designed for people with no prior background in the subject. We welcome everyone, especially those from underserved and digitally excluded communities.

From the Founder

Temitope Stephen Apalowo

Founder & Strategic Lead, Global Innovation Hub CIO

Online safety is something I care deeply about, not just as a cybersecurity professional, but as someone who works with communities that are often the most targeted by digital threats. Too many people are falling victim to scams, phishing attacks, and AI-powered fraud simply because no one has taken the time to explain how these things work and what to do about them. That is why I wrote this guide, and why our Cybersecurity Foundations programme exists. Staying safe online is a skill, and like any skill, it can be learned.
